Marina Belousoff

"I have known Marina Belousoff for six years and during that time I have seen her blossom to an artist of significant promise. Marina, like myself, is completely self-taught, and displays in her technique a depth well beyond her experience.

Over the years I have been approached by many artists requesting training and critiques of their work. Personally, I rate Martina's appreciation and execution of technique and form as excellent. I sincerely believe that Marina's talent exceeds my own."

John Michael Challen

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Attraction to beauty is in the soul. Some people have a desire to experience beauty in all things and so express it whenever a way or means presents itself. Marina Belousoff  is such a person.

Born in Helsinki in 1963 the daughter of Tamara, a school teacher and Boris, an Official at the French Embassy, Marina's art experience grew from childhood exposure to an assortment of influences including the performing arts, to only reveal itself fully in later years through the exquisitely rendered oil paintings for which she is now becoming well-known. Each image an intimate personal reflection of some previous encounter with the natural beauty of the world around her. Fueled by a life of  diverse experiences and with tenacious attention to technical skill, her artwork has evolved to a standard in content and execution rarely seen in the artworld today.

Marina arrived in Australia in 1989, residing in Adelaide for several years while studying homeopathy, the beginning of a lasting interest in natural therapy and nutritional medicine.

It was during this time that she married and had her only son Michael. The following years saw many changes in Marina's life and several moves finally settling on the Sunshine Coast in 2000.

Painting occupies a great deal of her time, inspired by an endless barage of visions and the enthusiasm of public thirst for her finished pieces. True to the Artists creed of "Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love" she is in herself a reflection of the beauty she strives so faithfully to reproduce, testified to by anyone who has seen her glide by on her big yellow Ducati, the second great love of her life !!
